Arthur Kelly
Arthur Kelly enters his fourth season at the helm of the Lady Monarch Women's Club basketball team. Coach Kelly is a native of Newport News, Virginia and came to Norfolk in 2003 to attend Old Dominion Univeristy. At Old Dominion, Coach Kelly served on the Lady Monarch scrimmage team under the tutelage of Old Dominion's winningest Coach Wendy Larry. It was on the scrimmage team that his passion for coaching developed. Arthur earned a BS in Communications from Old Dominion and a Masters Degree in Human Services from Liberty University. When not on the court you can find him playing the keyboard for the youth at his church Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist in Norfolk. Coach Kelly and his wife Akia Kelly reside in Chesapeake. They are expecting their first child in April.
The Lady Monarchs return from a stellar 16 - 3 record as they went on to claim the 2012 - 2013 East Coast Women's Club Basketball Championship. They also enjoyed elite eight title runs in the NIRSA National Championship Tournament 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. In the past four fall semester seasons Coach Kelly has led the Lady Monarch's to 39 - 16 record.
